Sam Bensley

As a teenager, Sam recognized the need for the resource of athletic equipment in Nicaragua. Sam began collecting and bringing equipment on his own in 2014. Through partnerships, domestic and abroad , he grew the idea into a project which became recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2016.

Tristan, is a passionate and dedicated individual who has a strong desire to give back to communities both near and far. His love of travel has enabled him to gain a unique perspective into different cultures and environments, which he uses to guide our initiatives.

Julian PRemus

Julian's passion for community service and giving back began when he first traveled with Somos to Nicaragua in 2016. Since then, he has been involved in overseeing 7 different Somos Camps and has traveled with us on 5 different occasions, bringing invaluable experience and expertise to our organization. 

Rhys Wienbereger

Rhys, head coach of Hillsborough high school wrestling team, was introduced to Somos during his time at Rutgers University. He became interested in our organization after learning about how we provide aid to communities in need. Rhys's passion for sports and dedication to giving back to the community fit perfectly with our mission.

Darren Prado

Darren was one of the founding volunteers of Somos. After his first trip to Nicaragua in 2016, Darren found one of his life's true passions; giving back to people in need. Darren plays an invaluable role in the growth and expansion of our organization both domestic and abroad. 

Antonio Surren

Antonio "Tio" Surren, of Barcelona, Spain, is the founder of the Tio Antonio Foundation, located in Grananda, Nicaragua. Tio has been our main partner and contact in Nicaragua since our inception.
